Ingleside Station Newsletter - March 7, 2018

The month of March is Women’s History Month, making it no better time (other than every day) to celebrate the myriad of ways that women have overcome, persevered, excelled, mattered, and greatly contributed in service professions, especially in uniform. History has shown that almost all doubted women’s capacity and capability to serve the world in this way, yet women have consistently risen to the challenge and proven the doubters wrong. Almost 400 women served in uniform during the Civil War, even with having the additional challenge of needing to conceal their identities to do so. In policing today, from Doral, Florida (below left) to right here
in the SFPD (above right) and everywhere in between, our Departments are better and our communities are safer because of their courage and selflessness.
