Off-Duty Officer’s Swift Action Leads to Immediate Arrest of Robbery Suspect 25-090

On June 6th, 2025, at approximately 6:47 p.m., San Francisco Police Officers responded to a business located on the 2000 block of San Jose Ave regarding a robbery suspect being detained by an off-duty San Francisco Police officer.

Officers arrived on the scene and observed a male suspect being detained by an off-duty officer and placed the suspect under arrest without incident.

Through the course of the investigation, officers discovered that a male suspect entered the business and stole store merchandise. As the suspect exited the store, an employee attempted to stop the male suspect, and a physical altercation ensued outside the business. During the incident, the off-duty officer, after identifying himself, intervened and detained the male suspect as the employee called for police.

Officers developed probable cause to arrest the male suspect identified as 21-year-old Eduardo Dias Da Silva of Daly City.

During the arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm that was recovered and seized on the scene.

There were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.

Eduardo Dias Da Silva was booked into San Francisco County Jail for resisting an executive officer (69 PC), robbery (211 PC), conspiracy (25400 PC), carrying a concealed weapon (25850(c)(6) PC), carrying a loaded firearm not the registered owner, and carrying a loaded firearm (25850(a)PC).

The officer’s bravery and quick actions led to the immediate arrest of the suspect.
