It is with great pleasure that I showcase the Portola Block Party which took place on San Bruno Avenue this past Sunday afternoon. This event was a great success not only for those who live in the Portola but for our officers as well. There were lots of activities for children and families which is always the goal of community related events where bridging the police-community relationship is paramount. I want to give a very special thanks to Commander Lazar and his entire staff at the Community Engagement Division as well as to SF SAFE Director Kyra Worthy, both of which were extremely instrumental in coordinating and facilitating the required resources. And finally, a heartfelt thanks to all of the Bayview Station Officers who continue to serve the entire Bayview community with care and compassion. Bayview officers are a special breed and I'm truly proud to be with them in our collective effort towards quality public safety.
