SFPD Makes Arrest in 2024 Mission District Homicide #24-083(a)

On August 5, 2024, at approximately 5:02 a.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the area of 20th and Shotwell Streets on a report of a physical assault involving a firearm. 

Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male victim lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers began rendering aid, including cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).  Paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid as well.  Despite life-saving efforts by first responders and medical personnel, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The SFPD Homicide Detail led the investigation. Through the course of their investigation, homicide investigators identified a suspect and developed probable cause to place him under arrest.

On January 23, 2026, members of SFPD SWAT served search warrants on the 2500 block of 41st Avenue in San Francisco and the 100 block of Linda Vista Drive in Daly City. Officers took the 28-year-old male, Darryon Harry Chun, into custody on the 2500 block of 41st Avenue and booked him at San Francisco County Jail on the charge of homicide (187(a) PC).
