SFPD Arrests Sexual Assault Suspect #26-123

On September 26, 2026, San Francisco Police officers responded to the report of a victim who said she was sexually assaulted by a stranger in the Bayview District.

Officers from the San Francisco Police Department assisted in getting the victim medical treatment while the SFPD’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) responded and took over the investigation.

Investigators immediately began collecting evidence in the case, and on October 3, 2026, SFPD officers arrested 36-year-old David Vonstetten.

Vonstetten was booked in San Francisco County Jail on charges including numerous felony sodomy charges, felony false imprisonment, and felony sexual battery.

The investigation and arrest were carried out in close partnership with the District Attorney’s Office.
