UPDATE: SFPD Marine Unit Recovers Body from Water #26-086(a)

On July 16, 2026, at approximately 1:02 p.m., SFPD officers assigned to the San Francisco Marine Unit 3 were conducting sonar scanning when a passing vessel alerted officers of a body in the water west of Treasure Island.  

Officers recovered the body from the water and later declared the individual deceased on scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) will determine the identity of the decedent and release the name after notifying next of kin.
