On December 10, 2025, the San Francisco Police Department asked for the public’s assistance in locating a dog that ran away following an assault on its owner at Post and Leavenworth streets the afternoon of December 7.

Later that night, San Francisco Police officers located Charlotte Rose in the Tenderloin District. SFPD’s Real-Time Investigation Center also assisted in the investigation to confirm the dog’s identity. Charlotte Rose appeared to be in good health and was transported to a nearby animal care facility to be checked out.

Charlotte Rose will soon be reunited with her owner, who is still recovering from the December 7 assault.

This case remains an open and active investigation by the San Francisco Police Department’s Strategic Investigation Unit (SIU).

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or Text-A-Tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
