SFPD Arrests Homicide Suspect 25-115(a)

On September 10, 2025, at approximately 4:38 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the area of Junipero Serra Boulevard and Ocean Avenue regarding a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and located a male victim suffering from an apparent life-threatening stab wound. Despite the lifesaving efforts of emergency responders and medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased at the hospital.

The SFPD Homicide Detail responded to the scene and is leading this investigation. Through the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as a 42-year-old male, Daniel Patrick Rodriguez Jr.

On September 12, 2025, shortly before 9:00 a.m. Rodriguez Jr. was located in Tuolumne County by SFPD investigative teams. Through the coordinated efforts of the Homicide Detail investigators and SFPD officers assigned to the Citywide Plainclothes Team, Strategic Investigations (SIU), Technical Services Unit (TSU), and Tactical Teams, Rodriguez Jr. was taken into custody and arrested for murder (187(a) PC).
