The purpose of this notice is to notify members of the new incidents that have been added to the San Francisco Police Department’s online CopLogic report filing system and introduce the Department’s public facing flyer. Offering more incidents to online reporting will improve efficiency for Department personnel and members of the public.

Incidents that can be filed online (newly added incidents in bold):

Lost PropertyTrespassing
TheftAlcohol Permit Violations (Commercial Establishments/Liquor Stores)
Vandalism or GraffitiTobacco Violations (Commercial Establishments Only)
Vehicle BurglaryRetail Hours Restriction Pilot Program Violations
Vehicle TamperingThe aforementioned incidents involving known and unknown suspects
Harassing Phone Calls
Mail/Package Thefts
Identity/Cryptocurrency Thefts
Phone Scams

A feature was added that allows for the option of “documentation only” in the event the reportee does not want their incident investigated.

CopLogic reports are distributed to district stations depending on the location of the crime being reported. Station Sergeants are expected to review the CopLogic queue regularly and approve reports that are complete. If reports aren't complete, station Sergeants will direct the draft back to its origin for necessary updates. In the event station Sergeants read about an incident that requires an immediate police response, they should have an officer respond to investigate and document the response in an incident report.

When a CopLogic report is approved by a Sergeant, it is routed to the associated Investigations Bureau detail for case assignment review.

The flyer attached to this notice contains a QR code to quickly access the CopLogic online reporting system available on SFPD’s website. It can be provided to the public and should be posted visibly in station lobbies. This flyer replaces any other online reporting flyers.
