SFPD Makes Arrest in Jamestown Avenue and Ingalls Street Homicide 23-080(a)

On July 4, 2023, at approximately 10:03 p.m., San Francisco Police officers assigned to Bayview Station responded to Jamestown Avenue and Ingalls Street on a report of a shooting. 

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  Officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene who transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite the lifesaving efforts of emergency responders and medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased. 

Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail took lead in the investigation.    

Through the course of the investigation, investigators developed information that identified the suspect from the homicide as a 16-year-old juvenile male of Oakland, California. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain a Ramey warrant for the juvenile’s arrest.  

On July 13, 2023, the juvenile suspect turned himself into the homicide investigators at the San Francisco Hall of Justice and was taken into custody without incident.  

The juvenile was transported and booked at the Juvenile Justice Center for a charge of homicide (187(a) PC).
