SFPD Arrests Hit & Run Collision Suspect 25-070
5-year-old child was left injured at the scene
On May 24, 2025, at approximately 6:14 p.m., officers responded to 31st Ave. and Clement St. regarding a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Officers arrived on the scene and located an adult female and her 5-year-old child, who was struck by a vehicle while riding a push bike. The child was injured due to the collision and was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver involved in the collision fled the scene in the vehicle without providing aid or their information.
The SFPD Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TCIU) is leading this investigation as a hit-and-run collision. Through the course of the investigation, investigators identified the suspect and the vehicle. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain arrest and search warrants for the suspect driver and the vehicle.
On June 1, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., TCIU investigators located the suspect on the unit block of Serramonte Center, Daly City, California. The suspect, identified as Jonathan Tyler Lam, a 35-year-old male, was placed into custody and transported to San Francisco County Jail, where he was booked in violation of felony Hit and Run (20001(A) CVC, $100,000 Bail).
