The Q60-Lieutenant examination will take place over two days on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, and conclude on Thursday, September 3, 2026. 

Commanding Officers shall not authorize discretionary time off (VA, OU, EH, FHF, FH, PE, LH, etc.) during the Lieutenant’s examination period for: 

  • Sergeants who are not taking the Lieutenant’s examination, and  

  • Lieutenants 

Commanding Officers shall forward all vacation requests that include any of the above-listed dates to the appropriate Bureau Chief for written approval. 

A job announcement will be issued upon its completion by DHR and a corresponding department notice will be distributed concurrently.
