SFPD Arrests Suspect Involved in Tenderloin Shooting 25-133

On August 7, 2025, at approximately 12:20 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to Golden Gate Ave. and Jones St. regarding a shooting that had just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid, and medics arrived on scene, who transported the victim to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers received information that the suspect fled into a nearby building located on the unit block of Jones St. Officers searched the nearby building and were unable to locate the suspect.

Through the course of the investigation, investigators identified the suspect as Vincent Thompson of Oakland, CA.

On 10/23/2025, members of the San Francisco Police Department Citywide Plainclothes Team, along with Tracy Police Department and the US Marshals Task Force, set up surveillance at a residence in Tracy, CA. At approximately 3:35 p.m., Thompson was taken into custody without incident from the residence.

Citywide Plainclothes members and SIU investigators also carried out a search warrant of Thompson’s residence in Oakland, CA.

Thompson was transported to San Francisco County Jail for his arrest warrant – aggravated assault with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and robbery.
