SFPD Arrests Park District Homicide Suspect 25-059(a)

Death investigation determined as homicide

On May 6, 2025, at approximately 3:19 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the unit block of Laguna Street on a report of a deceased person. Officers arrived on the scene, met with paramedics who were the first to arrive, and pronounced the person deceased.

Medical Examiners from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) arrived on the scene, determined that the death was suspicious. Officers initiated an investigation and notified the SFPD Homicide Detail.

The SFPD Homicide Detail responded to the scene and is leading the investigation. Investigators identified the suspect as a 24-year-old female, Deno Blackwell. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain search and arrest warrants for Blackwell.

On July 10, 2025, investigators located Blackwell in Oakland, California, and placed her under arrest and served the search warrant. Blackwell was transported to San Francisco County Jail, where she was booked for the warrant on the violation of homicide (187(a) PC).
