Deputy Chief Ann Mannix is a fourth-generation San Franciscan who graduated from George Washington High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate University. She joined the SFPD in 1986 because she wanted to follow in her brother’s footsteps by serving the city she loves. She currently oversees patrol operations. In her free time, Mannix serves on the Board of directors for the San Francisco Police Activities League and the Leadership Board of the University of San Francisco. She also plays tennis and enjoys time with her family and two dogs.
